Final Thoughts

Are you struggling to find a non-standard-sized drawer or cabinet pull? Or do you want to replace cabinet hardware on multiple doors and drawers in your home, but don’t want to hassle with measuring all the center hole distances?

Adjustable drawer pulls are the Swiss army knife of cabinet hardware: they can fit a range of center-to-center sizes, all in one handle.

What is an Adjustable Drawer Pull?

An adjustable drawer pull or adjustable cabinet pull is a handle able to fit various center-to-center sizes.

It’s like having 5 sizes in one pull!

Here are some examples of adjustable drawer pull length ranges:

  • 1 to 4 inches (25 mm to 102 mm)
  • 1-3/8 to 6-5/16 inches (35 mm to 160 mm)
  • 2 to 8-13/16-inches (51 mm to 224 mm)

Older cabinets, dressers, or drawers can sometimes have hard-to-find pull sizes, like 2.5-inch pulls, or 4-inch pulls. This is where adjustable pulls can be a time saver.

Why Use an Adjustable Drawer or Cabinet Pull?

Adjustable handles solve multiple DIY problems like:

  • Replacing pulls with non-standard, unique center-to-centers
  • Covering up old drill holes, scratches, or imperfections on doors or drawers
  • One-stop shop for replacing multiple center-to-center length pulls across the home
  • Upgrading to longer, more modern pulls, but without patching and drilling new holes

No matter the name, adjustable drawer pulls and adjustable cabinet pulls work the same. They all can adapt to fit various centers, change length, and be used anywhere from the kitchen cabinets to dresser drawers.

Easy to Fit. Designed to Impress. Transform with Adjusta-Pull™ Cabinet Pulls

Adjusta-Pull™ cabinet pulls are the original adjustable drawer and cabinet pull, designed and manufactured by Liberty Hardware. It is sold under both the Liberty® and Franklin Brass® brands.

It’s a simple, stylish solution that gives you the look you want using the holes you already have.

How to Choose the Right Size

Adjusta-Pull™ cabinet pulls have various sizes (hole center ranges) to fit nearly every non-standard center-to-center length.

If your drill hole length is near the end range of the adjustable cabinet pull, consider choosing the next size up.

For example, a 2.5-inch center-to-center will fit an adjustable drawer pull that is 2 to 8-13/16 inches. However, if you use the Adjusta-Pull™ bar pull design, the posts may be too close together for a balanced look. In this case, we recommend getting the 1-3/8 to 6-5/16 range.

For an Adjusta-Pull™ channel post design, this won't matter. You can choose the shorter or longer pull that fits your style.

Adjustable Pull vs Dual Mount

Dual mount pulls only have two options for center to center, such as 4 inches or 5-1/16 inches. Unlike adjustable pulls, there is no micro-adjusting the length. You can only install on the two center hole lengths.

Cup pulls are a popular pull style for dual mount hardware because they have the added benefit of covering old drill holes, scratches, or chipping that is close to the installation holes.

Dual mount pulls offer good options for specific cabinet hardware updates and decor styles. However, they don’t offer the same range of adjustability, and style options are limited.
