How to Use the Align Right Template to Make a Project Easier

Making sure your cabinet knobs and pulls are exactly where they should be can be intimidating. That’s why we have developed our Align Right Template to help make your hardware project a little easier and make those knobs and pulls the perfect finishing touch for your space.

The Align Right template allows flexibility for knob and pull placement. It’s completely up to you if you want the hardware right at the bottom or a few inches up the cabinet door. The template gives you the freedom to place them in a variety of locations and have them looking perfect every time.

It’s designed to accommodate the center to center measurements for multiple drawer pull lengths including 2 ½”, 3”, 96mm, 4”, and 128mm.  We have options for both drawers and cabinet doors as well as a set so you can buy both at once and use them for years to come. Each template also comes with the drill bit needed to drill the holes for all our cabinet knobs and drawer pulls.

Align the template on the corner of the door or in the center of the drawer you will be installing new hardware on.

Mark the Location

Choose which hole location you’d like and mark it with a pencil. Make sure you remember which hole you used or you’ll end up with lop-sided hardware. If you’re installing knobs, move on to step 3.

If you’re installing cabinet or drawer pulls, make sure to mark both holes on the template that coordinate with the length of pull.

Flip the template and mark the hole on the other cabinet door. Repeat this until all of the cabinets or drawers are marked.

Drill The Holes

Drill The Holes

Using the 3/16” bit that’s included with the template, drill a hole through the entire cabinet or drawer face.

DO NOT drill through the template itself! This will damage the template and alter the holes slightly causing installation to be difficult.

From the back, thread the mounting screw through the door. Line up the knob or pull and tighten to complete installation. Repeat on all the hardware.

The most important part – take a step back and look at what a huge difference new cabinet hardware makes in your kitchen, bathroom, or DIY furniture!
