At Liberty Hardware, we believe we have a great responsibility and privilege to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Our contributions include employee volunteer opportunities and donations of money, gifts and products. These are just a few examples of the ways Team Liberty gives back to our local communities to aid against issues like homelessness and hunger.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education inside the United States. The American Red Cross supplies roughly 40% of the donated blood in the United States, which they sell directly to hospitals and regional suppliers.
Liberty Hardware hosts an American Red Cross Blood Drive at our facility annually. Employees and individuals within the community volunteer to donate blood for those in need.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC works toward reducing hunger and malnutrition in northwest North Carolina. In 2015, Second Harvest Food Bank distributed more than 26.5 million pounds of donated, purchased and prepared foods - the equivalent of more than 22 million meals. Serving local communities in 18 NC counties, Second Harvest Food Bank provides more than 300,000 people in need each year, including 100,000 children.
Each year Liberty Hardware hosts a food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, donating thousands of pounds of food.
H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem
H.O.P.E. (Help Our People Eat) of Winston Salem uses community-wide volunteer support to prepare and bring nutritious weekend meals to Forsyth County’s 40,000 children who are at risk for hunger.
Liberty Hardware employees volunteer their time during the weekends to help prepare and deliver meals to children in need. Liberty Hardware also provides cash donations to H.O.P.E. of Winston Salem to help purchase healthy, perishable food items.
Share the Joy
Around the holidays each year, Liberty Hardware adopts 50-75 local children in need to provide them with clothing, coats, shoes, toys, and gifts. Liberty employees help shop for needed items for the children, help box the gifts, and deliver them to the families.
